Book List

11th Grade – Sweet Valley High – I was keeping track of how much time elapsed in every book, but I gave up around #45. At that point, the twins had been juniors in high school for at least forty months.

I know, in one year, they had like 4 Christmases, 2 Thanksgivings, a couple of Winter Breaks, Spring breaks, like 2 Summers even, couple of trips to London too! And it’s ironic to see Suzane Devlin in book 11, then she comes back by the time Todd has moved to Vermont in book 23, but Steven/Cara got together by book 24! Talk about a between passage! Oh yeah, and then they met Margo, saw Lila’s mother remarry her father…and so many other things like 2 proms in one year?!

That is one crazy Sweet Valley area!

Also, you think when the twins go to New York eventually, shouldn’t they have looked up Suzanne to see how she was doing? Talk about forgetting about her!

I just want to say I think I would have been an awesome story for SVH. I always dropped my real friends when the cool kids came calling. I’m ashamed of that now, but back then it was like “I’ll see you losers later!”

Are you likely to review Elizabeth and Jessica’s Secret Diaries Volume 3? I’ve never actually been able to locate a copy…Although ebay is starting to look VERY tempting.

Thank you so much! Make sure you vote for SVU in the poll, though I don’t think it matters. It’s already winning by a landslide!

This site is awesome! Great work on the book list! I feel like I read up to about 65 or so. I’ve read here and on other site that a lot of people stopped in that area too. I wonder if something happened then?

Thanks for doing all of this!!

I stopped around there too. Maybe we all just happened to outgrow them at the same time, ha.

Something jumped the shark! I’d go back and re-read them if my mother didn’t throw them all away!

It looks like that’s right around where the Wakefield parents were having their marital troubles. Maybe nobody cared about that. I know I didn’t.

I really enjoyed reading your blog. I read Sweet Valley since I was eight years old and my favorite would be Sweet Valley High. In hindsight, the twins’ friends are usually the products of divorce (Lila, Enid, Aaron); and the parents who don’t really figure (like Jeffrey French’s folks) are together. The friends tend to also be only children – Lila, Enid, Amy, Todd, Jeffrey, etc.
