It’s Finally Over!
This horrible series has finally come to an end!
Thank you so much to everyone who stuck around. Your encouraging comments kept me going! (And I’m looking forward to that daiquiri, rachierach!)
According to the poll in the sidebar, 189 of you would like me to recap Sweet Valley University next. Before I do that, I’ll be taking a long break while I regroup and read some grownup books. I’ll also be using that time to obtain the SVU books, since I don’t have very many of them. (I will gladly take donations if anyone can bear to part with their copies!)
But don’t go away just yet! I think I have a pretty cool giveaway coming up early next week, and I plan on recapping a couple more episodes of the TV series during my sabbatical. If you want me to notify you when I’m ready to start SVU, drop me an email with “mailing list” in the subject line.

No, it will probably be a gift card, but I’m not sure of the details yet. I may do a book giveaway sometime in the future though. I do have a bunch of extras.

Woohoo!!! I can’t believe you’ve got through the original SVH and the Senior years so quickly!!! It seems like just the other day I stumbled upon this blog and lost several hours reading the posts I’d missed. Can’t wait for you to start SVU; I never got around to reading those when I was younger.

Yay, SVU is next! You are an absolute saint for going the distance with Senior Year. At least SVU brings back Bruce and Lila…and freakin’ puts them together. I cannot wait!

Congrats Shannon!!! Enjoy your much deserved break from the world of Sweet Valley!!! But don’t stay away too long… it totally makes my day to check in with your site, your hilarious recaps, and your daily progress!!! Personally, I was ready for you to tackle SVT (as it was my first introduction to the girls), but I am still looking forward to reading up on the twins adventures at SVU!! I recently bagged a “Night to Remember” through “Evil Twin” collection of books on ebay. It’s hysterically bad!!! I LOVE IT!!! I have to read about 3 other books to every 1 Sweet Valley. I’m only on The Verdict but am still stunned by the murderous insanity of Margo and that more parents weren’t outraged by the trash we were reading every month. Can you believe what this franchise got away with??!!
Have you made any decisions as to how long your hiatus will be?

I was also kind of pulling for SVT to win, but I’m totally happy to do SVU. I never read them as a kid so I’m looking forward to finding out what kind of hijinks the gang gets up to. (I also can’t believe our parents let us read this crap.) Not sure how long the hiatus will be, but I promise I won’t be gone forever.

WOW – I must praise you for getting all the way through this latest series because it sounded bad enough to be almost unreadable! Bravo! (I did get a kick out of the hilarious 90s covers though)

Hi Shannon what a fantastic blog this is, I have just finished with SVHSY today. How wonderful to know that there are other girls out there who confirm my 12yr old thoughts on how crazy this series is! I came home one day and found my mum clearing out the loft, and there sat all my old SVT and SVH books and I couldn’t resist re-reading and then googling. I ended up here, and have been hooked for these last 2 months! Congratulations to you for keeping up with it and THANK YOU for all the hours of entertainment and nostalgia you have given me
