I thought that was weird, too! My brother would never give me an autographed picture of himself, especially not signed with “all my love.” It’s a little strange.

I just thought it was weird how Claire’s brother would give her an autographed picture of himself. Ghosty should have said “there was a picture of a guy in a football uniform with his arm around Claire and they’re both smiling”. Or something like that.

If I’d read this as a kid, I probably would have been rooting for Claire, too. But reading it now, I just think she’s a bitch, ha ha. Until the end, that is, when she befriends Terri and we suddenly see she’s a human being.

This was one of my FAVORITE SVH books! I thought Claire was SO pretty and awesome in her football uniform. I rooted for her through the entire book (every time I read it). I’d completely forgotten this one, I think it’s joined the ranks of Elizabeth’s kidnapping as one of my favorite events to happen in Sweet Valley.

Pervy! Are we witnessing the beginning of his sexual deviance here?! If memory serves me correctly, he tries to rape Lila not too long after this book. I think every John Pfieffer line needs to be closely examined, ladies!

I was reminded of the Simpsons episode where they have a football team and Lisa’s all, “Who says a girl can’t play football?!” and it turns out the team already has a few girls and she gets all self-righteous and huffy.
