The group being discriminated against may have not gotten called on or something. I think it helped because it just gave privileges rather than hurt anyone, but I can see how the kids could go all Lord of the Flies on each other if it wasn't carefully controlled. Anyway holy cow. This is such heavy material. The ghost writer must have just finished a Lifetime movie or something.
